The archipelago of the Maldives, a republic situated in the Indian Ocean 650 kilometres south west of India, is made up of 1200 small islands connected by coral clusters and atolls. Scattered islands with dense vegetation provide us with beautiful lagoons and white sandy beaches. Marvelling at the beautiful decor, you truly have the impression of living in a postcard. The Maldivian people are united from vast and diverse origins, speaking an indo-European language called Divehi.

The best formula for discovering the underwater marvels of this archipelago remain undeniably on a cruise, during which time you will be able to make between 15 and 25 dives, depending on the chosen itinerary.

The diving itinerary and program of Abyss World’s “classic” cruises is established based on the desires of the divers, their previous dive experiences in the Maldives and, of course, weather conditions. Therefore, you will travel and dive at the Atolls of North Malé, South Malé, Felidhu, Meemu, Vattaru, Baa and among other marvels of the Indian Ocean.

Grand South & Grand North: explore virgin dive sites at the 2 extremes of the archipelago. Discover Abyss World's exclusive itineraries, using an ascending or descending formula. The transportation to or from Malé on these itineraries will be done by plane.

The Manta Cruise

Launched in 2004, the Manta Cruise is a comfortable dive vessel of 33 meters in length, a beam of 9 meters with modern lines. Equipped with a 365 hp engine her cruising speed is between 9 and 12 knots. She welcomes 17 passengers on board in 9 cabins (2 suites more spacious on the upper deck), with double or bunk beds. All cabins have a private ensuite with hot water.

Completely air-conditioned, the Manta Cruise has 2 generators 24/24, a desalinator, a huge saloon with TV and dining room, a large aft deck with tables, 2 sundecks with sun lounges and sufficient shaded areas.

On the foredeck, sun lounges and a spa are there for your relaxation. The accompanying “dive-dhoni” is entirely equipped with 2 compressors, GPS, telephone, medical oxygen and storage for individual material.

Nitrox diving is available on request and as an option.
