AQABA, JORDAN

Situated on the west coast of India, Mumbai has India's most prolific film industry, nicknamed "Bollywood", a huge and chaotic railway and subway system and the largest tropical forest in an urban zone. MUSCAT, OMAN

The laid-back city of Muscat thrives on the serene shores of the Gulf of Oman. Known as the 'Jewel of Arabia', it is dotted with beautiful beaches, pearl-white buildings, & an extensive desert landscape. With brown rugged mountains on one end & the deep blue sea on the other, it retains an old-world charm with its palaces, ancient forts, mosques, & bustling souks. Muscat is a cosmopolitan city and the hub of economic activity of Oman. The city is famous for its luxurious resorts, fine-dining restaurant and luxury malls. With its busy markets and spectacular landscapes. Though tradition abounds, from distinct, local cuisine to the widely worn national dress, the Omani dishdasha - Muscat has a character quite different from neighbouring capitals.

PALMA DE MALLORCA, SPAIN

Palma de Mallorca is one of Europe's major holiday destinations, full of idyllic streets, looming baroque churches, teeming public squares, vibrant bohemian neighbourhoods and markets. A richly studded diadem of historical sites including architectural landmark and designed by Antoni Gaudi - the Catedral de Mallorca; Almudaina Palace and Plaza Mayor. Palma de Mallorca also shelters a seemingly endless array of galleries, restaurants, craft studios and bars – it's without doubt Mallorca's greatest treasure. For a great view from above and must-see, visit Bellver Castle, a 700 year old fortress that dominates the skyline of Palma; or wander the streets and enjoy surprise views of a beautiful alleyway or elegant courtyard dating back to the thirteenth century.

PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, RUSSIA

Anyone coming to experience the magical scenery and rugged beauty of Kamchatka will have to spend some time in the peninsula's city among volcanoes, Petropavlovsk. Founded in the 1750's and one of the oldest towns in the Far East, Petropavlovsk's magnificent setting on Avacha Bay is overlooked by two giant volcanoes, surrounded by what UNESCO describes as "one of the most outstanding volcanic regions in the world." Wander the streets of this fishing town past a quaint wooden chapel and historic monuments, and stop for a beer at a charming café; or visit the Kamchatka Museum, overlooking the bay, where dioramas of nomadic herders, old cannonballs and other artifacts will take you back in time.

PUERTO MONTT, CHILE

Puerto Montt, tucked in a corner along the side of a mountain, will make you feel like you have reached a far corner of Bavaria. Puerto Montt was populated by German immigrants who brought with them their architecture, customs and culture. Chile's gateway to its spectacular lake district has a distinctly alpine feel about it. From here, you've the chance to take in the best views of the region's waterfalls, rivers and lakes, as well as Mt. Osorno with its snowcapped peak. Other highlights include the emerald green waters of Lake Todos Los Santos, more commonly known as Lake Esmeralda and described by Theodore Roosevelt as the most beautiful lake he had ever seen.

REYKJAVIK, ICELAND

Reykjavik is the capital and largest city of Iceland. With an urban area population of around 200,000, the vast majority of Iceland's inhabitants live here. It is the centre of culture and life of the Icelandic people as well as being one of the focal points of tourism in Iceland. The city itself is spread out, with suburbs sprawling outwards from the confined city centre. The city centre is a small area characterized by beautiful, colourful houses co-located with good shopping, dining, and drinking. Many breathtaking sights are contained within The Golden Circle – a short trip from the city – including Þingvellir (Thingvellir) National Park, Geysir hot spring area and Gullfoss waterfall.
