Gorgeous, fun & interesting holidays with Dave Best
13 Days: 27 June-9 July, 2011
Join Dave Best on this unique small-group escorted adventure that offers a very different take on the traditional ‘safari’ to Tanzania.
Stay at a charming lodge in Arusha before heading out the following day, in 4WD vehicles to explore the celebrated Lake Manyara. Enjoy a game drive and continue into the Ngorongoro highlands to a lovely lodge that faces the Oldeani volcano. Then on to Serenget for two nights at a luxury mobile tented camp. Explore the extensive grasslands on morning and afternoon game drives before heading back to the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for another day of game-viewing.
Journey to the traditional Masai homelands and spend the three days hiking along cattle trails and through local villages. Donkeys carry the gear and you sleep under canvas in simple dome tents. Enjoy a wide variety of scenery, visiting the ancient Empakai Crater and descending into the plains surrounding Lake Natron – where the final night is spent at a wonderful luxury tented camp.
Fly from Arusha to the exotic island of Zanzibar, with its ancient Moorish influences and long history of spice cultivation. Stay at a lovely old property located right on the beach in the heart of Stone Town.
About Best Travels
Best Travels focuses on providing holidays for small groups of people who wish to visit some of the most beautiful areas on the planet, where there is also much to see and learn of cultural and historical interest.
Dave Best, who founded Best Travels and who has been managing and leading such holidays for 16 years, is dedicated to providing these gorgeous, fun and interesting holidays.
If you are unfamiliar with the Dave Best travel style, think of it as adding the ‘extra’ to the ‘ordinary’, providing good value tours filled with the ‘must do’ attractions but enhanced with insights into the culture, history, cuisine and people of the destination.
Although the company is Australian-based, currently all the holidays offered are in Africa, Asia and Europe, and each year different destinations are added to the repertoire. This keeps Dave perennially on his toes and as many of the participants come back for more, it’s always a challenge to keep coming up with holidays to retain their interest and support.
Local guides and experts are sometimes employed for sections of the tours. After all, while speaking French is one thing, the Turkish or Bhutanese languages provide more of a challenge!
