Feast on South America’s greatest with a small group connoisseur tour!

PERU, ARGENTINA, CHILE, BRAZIL, ECUADOR, GALAPAGOS ISLANDS, BOLIVIA

South America is one of the most diverse and dynamic continents on the planet; where to even begin? Real Travel’s range of tours makes sure there’s something for everyone who has a desire to explore the culture, history, traditions and landscapes of this wonderful part of the world.

Each tour accommodates up to 18 people with English-speaking, local, knowledgeable guides.

From two weeks to up to a month, any Real Travel route will give you the most unforgettable journey of your life – all you have to do is choose from a stunning selection. 9 different routes, encompassing various highlights and destinations, are yours for the taking, plus a choice of just one jam-packed country at a time, with optional extensions.

Small Group Tours
Real Travel offers each program at as leisurely a pace as time and distance permits. Small-group, guaranteed departure tours mean that you will travel with a group, average 12–18 persons on part or all of each journey, with English speaking local guides who ‘know their stuff’.

Private Tours
If the scheduled departure dates don’t suit your holiday schedule, we can arrange any of the tours and circuit routes for you as a private tour with departures on a daily basis.

Most domestic and regional airfares and taxes are included. To add to the cultural experience, some short distance travel is by public bus. This allows time for you to meet the local people and perhaps learn more about their way of life, beliefs and traditions.

Real Travel has well-established offices in every major city in each of the countries featured in this brochure, and professional representatives in the smaller centres. You will never be further than a local phone call away from assistance. Our very experienced staff in South America, and our well travelled Australian staff, all have a wealth of knowledge and experience and are waiting to assist.

Take a relatively short tour of 12 days or opt for the longer 30 days, which can be lengthened with optional extra trips if you can’t bear to leave!

Stay in comfort at various recommended hotels, travel on air-conditioned coach with some local public transport to get a real feel of the destinations, self-drive or take in breathtaking scenery from a cruise. Enjoy the natural friendliness and warmth of the South American people in every country and have your breath taken away more times than you can imagine along the way. Real Travel’s brochure goes into more delicious detail, with full itineraries, but this should whet your appetite…

Peru - the “Kingdom of the Sun” encompasses the essence of “the new world” in its mix of native Indian and European cultures, including World Heritage site, Machu Picchu.
The amazing variety of stunning landscapes positions Peru in the top of the list of most spectacular countries on earth. Of 103 possible ecological zones internationally, 83 are represented in Peru.

Argentina is the second largest state in South America and offers an astounding diversity ranging from tropical rainforest in the north to the vastness of Antarctica in the south, the massive Andes in the west and the wide plains of Patagonia in the south. Visit Buenos Aires, one of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities with an interesting fusion of culture and flair as evidenced in the numerous bookshops, cafes and tango displays.

The natural beauty of Chile is extremely rich and original and, with the population very friendly, makes it an attractive destination. The driest desert in the world; the Atacama Desert, the emerald green of Lake Todas de Santos, spectacular and abundant forests; Torres del Paine National Park, fantastic glaciers and fjords are a few of the remarkable natural treasures of Chile.

Brazil is a country of huge proportions and many contrasts. The magnificent Iguaçu Falls shares a border with Argentina. The country boasts famous beaches like Copacabana and Ipanema, and the exciting cities of Rio and Bahia, the Amazon Jungle, Samba and Carnivale.

Ecuador is a small country, but it is uniquely endowed with dramatic landscapes, a rich diversity of climatic zones, flora and fauna. Here it is easy to move from dense rain forest to snow capped volcanic peaks, and on to warm beaches.

The Galapagos is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is the most unique living museum of evolutionary changes with a variety of exotic species endemic to the Archipelago. The animal life includes the giant Galapagos tortoise, a variety of birds and marine mammals such as iguanas, sea lions, dolphins, whales and a great range of fish.

Bolivia still retains its rich cultural identity and magnificent Andean landscapes.
La Paz, the highest capital city in the world, looks over a moonlike landscape with only a hint of vegetation, but the life and colour of the city is found in its Indian population. Street market stalls sell woven fabrics and traditional remedies while the great city squares offer incredible examples of colonial architecture.
