Come & Play in Paradise
The Kimberley’s best-kept secrets are yours to discover on this 9-day expedition cruise, starting and ending in Broome. Odyssey Expeditions provides experienced guides to this north-western wilderness on-board a new, affordable yet very comfortable vessel, The Odyssey.
In the far north-west of Western Australia, the Kimberley offers a year-round tropical climate, breathtaking scenery and an unspoilt coastline teeming with a diverse array of flora and fauna.
Most attractions are at their best during the March to September season. Waterfalls are flowing, gorges are full and birds, animals and plant life are at their exuberant best. Ideal conditions exist for walking, exploring and experiencing one the of the world’s most remote and tranquil destinations.
The fun begins when the Odyssey Expeditions’ tender boat, Homer ferries you out to your new home, The Odyssey. Choose from two standards of comfortable accommodation, both featuring air-conditioning, 240v power, loads of storage and bar fridges. The six deluxe double/twin cabins are well-equipped and private, with large viewing windows and plenty of natural ight. The four standard twin cabins have large portholes, also allowing for plenty of natural light.
Highlights include:
Cruise through the magnificent Buccaneer Archipelago, consisting of more than 800 islands.
Experience the awesome power of the Horizontal Waterfalls when the expert Odyssey crew takes you through the falls, when safe, then on for a fascinating exploration of Talbot Bay and Raft Point, site of perhaps the best Aboriginal rock art galleries on the coast.
Cruise through Turtle Alley to Montgomery Reef, 300 square kilometres of reef that is exposed by more than 4 metres with the outgoing tide - a marvel not to be missed.
Experience the heavenly surrounds and crystal waters of the lush rainforest creeks where the fresh water from the Sale River meets the tidal salt waters.
Cruise on to the St George Basin and up the magnificent Prince Regent for great fishing and magnificent waterfalls.
Explore the Prince Frederik Harbour and the Hunter River’s spectacular river scenery - grand red cliffs towering above mangrove-fringed rivers. Odyssey’s expert guides will show you hidden wonders of this area; the bird and animal life is particularly prolific.
Your final day is action packed: a tender ride to Naturalist Island, a helicopter flight over the Mitchell Plateau and Falls, a scenic flight over the Bonaparte and Buccaneer Archipelagos and then back to Broome.
