Discover New Zealand in the comfort of your own home-on-wheels

Escape to complete freedom where you can wake up in a new paradise each day

For those who desire total independence, a motorhome holiday is the perfect choice. Enjoy the magnificence of New Zealand within the comfort of your own home-on-wheels. The comfort and convenience of a motorhome offers a unique holiday adventure.

Custom-built and incorporating the most modern technology available, the motorhome can include all the comforts of home as well as wide windows for easy navigation and sensational sightseeing. Kirra Tours, in conjunction with United Campervans, can arrange the perfect itinerary for 2 - 6 people, from North to South and everywhere in between.

This is your chance to escape to complete freedom. And Kirra Tours and United are ready to hand over the keys! Stay overnight in one of three hundred fully-equipped Holiday Parks, where you can wake up looking out over a spectacular lake, eat dinner at the heart of the Abel Tasman National Park or settle down to enjoy a beautiful sunset.

Visit the sub-tropical Bay of Islands, natural wonders such as the rain forests of the Coromandel Peninsula, limestone caves at Waitomo and steaming thermal springs and boiling mud in the geothermal region of Rotorua.

Journey around the magical South Island from the Canterbury Plains to the Otago Peninsula. Every corner you take opens up a new landscape - green plains, snow-capped peaks, crystal clear rivers, lakes and much more.

The joy of being on the open road become apparent as New Zealand rolls out before you in a breathtaking, endless avenue of pleasure! A typical 2-island itinerary will cover about 3,500 kilometres and with time for sightseeing, will ideally take 21-25 days. If time is limited a visit to one island will require 9-13 days.

Enjoy enviable views from your “bedroom window” - Milford Sound, Lake Tekapo or the stunning Bay of Islands, just for starters - and take pleasure in exploring the surrounds, with guided walks, jet boating, cultural experiences and tours amongst glaciers, forests, lakes, mountains, beaches and rolling plains.

What to expect from the Holiday Parks?

New Zealand’s Holiday Parks adhere to international standards. Your camping fees will include power for powered site hook ups and, in the majority of parks, shower, toilet and ablution blocks. Almost all will also feature kitchen/cooking facilities, lounge and a recreation room. Some parks may have metres on showers, either coin-operated or time restricted, as a way of reducing excessive water usage. Laundry facilities are available within the parks and these are coin operated.

Most of the larger holiday parks include additional facilities such as swimming pools, spa pools, children’s play areas, tennis courts, outdoor barbeque areas, internet access and comfortable cabins or motel style accommodation. The cost of powered site accommodation will vary depending on location and facilities. Children are normally charged at half the adult rate. Seasonal rates may apply in some locations over peak holiday periods from Christmas/New Year to Easter. Advance bookings are recommended at these peak times. Your Kirra Tours consultant will be happy to assist and may be able to offer Early Bird Savings, Free Nights and Free Ferry Crossings.
