Shanghai – Silk Road – Far Western China – Kashgar

Take the ancient Silk Rd across China stopping at iconic and historical sites dating back to 300BCE, following the world’s greatest ancient trade routes. Travel from Shanghai to the ancient city of Lanzhou, then take the Silk Road Railway to the Western end of the Great Wall and desert fortresses at Jaiyuguan. Ride a camel and see the spectacular Mogao Caves from Dunhuang and the stunning Heavenly Lake from Urumqi. Travel to the oasis town of Turpan and the frontier town of Kashgar.
