Ethical Journeys Without Compromise

This 36-page brochure details a new range of volunteering holidays including programs in Kenya and Tanzania, which concentrate on community, culture and conservation.

Camps International is widely recognised as a leader in its field and has been operating in a number of countries since 2012, including Cambodia, Borneo, Ecuador and more recently Peru.

Camps International has been involved with projects supporting over 35,000 people, built 30 schools, protected more than 50,000 hectares of the environment and planted 650,000 trees.

Options involve two week and one, two and three month packages for Gap Year participants aged between 18 and 25 and 14-day tours for families and people aged 26 or over.

Prices in Kenya range from $2,060 and in Tanzania from $1,965.  Volunteer tours are also available in Uganda.

The activities are available year-round and include accommodation in a mixture of basic but very comfortable traditional thatched bandas or tented units. The packages include local Swahili lessons, a choice of regional familiarisation trips and cultural visits.

Camps International is also offering two special 14-day small group departures on Camps International Kenya and Tanzania LIFE programs. These programs are designed especially for people who want to explore an exciting part of the world, while contributing to projects that improve the environment and enhance the quality of life for people they visit.

Camps International delivers life enhancing travel experiences for young people across the world.

Camps International employs and trains hundreds of people in rural areas where there is little or no employment, construct our camps using sustainable materials and shape all our experiences to contribute to community development, wildlife and environmental conservation.

Camps International started with a small camp on the Kenyan coast. Over the first few years, Camps International rebuilt the school and attendance soared from 170 to nearly 800. Camps International provided accommodation for teachers, eradicated jiggers (parasitical flea that causes pain and suffering to children), dug water holes, planted cash crops, developed sports facilities, provided desks, books and educational equipment.

The camp quickly became a source of local industry through the jobs it provides and small loans have enabled small enterprises to thrive in the community.
